Cheaper Elm327 devices often have a problem with car compatibility, for example, the widespread “dark blue ELM327 V2.1” adapters are made of inexpensive components and don’t actually support the advertised versions, which means it can’t access the control modules of many cars and is not compatible with iOS. And when tested, even if it was compatible with a car, the connection tended to break down.
